Our Journey of Faith: How The Free Urdu Bible Mission Began in 2009

Every great movement of God begins with a single act of faith. The Free Urdu Bible Mission in Pakistan began the same way — through one man’s obedience, one miraculous healing, and one burning desire to see his nation transformed by the Word of God.

This is the story of how Rev. Dr. Naeem Nasir, Founder and President of Good Samaritan Ministries, began a journey that turned Five Urdu Bibles into a nationwide mission touching hundreds of thousands of lives.

A Miraculous Beginning: When God Spoke Through Healing

In early 2009, Dr. Naeem Nasir faced one of the darkest moments of his life. He was diagnosed with a severe skin disease that affected both of his feet, threatening his ability to walk. Medical experts feared amputation. But instead of giving up, he turned to The Lord in prayer and faith.

On February 20, 2009, he resigned from his job, trusting God completely for healing. Within one week, God miraculously healed him. This healing became the turning point of his life — a divine calling that transformed his pain into purpose.

Out of gratitude, Dr. Nasir made a solemn vow:

“Lord, for the rest of my life, I will serve You and make Your Word known to my people.”

From that moment, the journey of Free Urdu Bibles in Pakistan began.

The First Step: Five Urdu Bibles and a Lifetime Mission

After his recovery, Dr. Nasir purchased Five Urdu Bibles. He gave them to people who could not afford to buy one — pastors, families, and seekers. Those first five Bibles symbolized the beginning of a new era of evangelism in Pakistan.

Each Bible distributed carried not only printed pages but the power of God’s living Word. One Bible at a time, the message of salvation and hope began to spread — reaching homes, villages, and hearts.

As people started to read the Bible in their own language, lives changed. Families began to pray together. Churches grew stronger. And the hunger for God’s Word multiplied beyond imagination.

From a Local Vision to a National Movement

What began with Five Bibles soon turned into a full-fledged national movement. By 2012, Dr. Nasir’s ministry — Good Samaritan Ministries — had begun holding evangelistic crusades and Bible distribution events across Pakistan.

Through partnerships with local churches, pastors, and volunteers, over 100,000 Free Urdu Bibles have now been distributed — along with 50,000 children’s Urdu Bibles and countless copies of the Gospel of John and Christian literature.

Each distribution represents a story — a new believer, a renewed family, a transformed community. The Urdu Bible has become a source of light in villages where poverty and persecution once overshadowed faith.

The Mission: One Million Free Urdu Bibles by 2033

The journey didn’t stop with 150,000. Inspired by the Great Commission and the upcoming 2,000th anniversary of Christ’s resurrection in 2033, Dr. Nasir launched the vision to distribute one million Free Urdu Bibles across Pakistan.

“The Bible is not just a book; it is the voice of God speaking to humanity,” says Dr. Naeem Nasir.

“Our goal is to make sure every person in Pakistan can hear that voice in their own language.”

This goal is more than numbers — it’s a spiritual awakening. Every Bible given freely is a step toward a nation that knows Jesus Christ and lives in His truth.

Faith in Action: The Broader Mission of Good Samaritan Ministries

The Free Urdu Bible Mission is one part of a much greater work that God began through Dr. Nasir. His ministry now includes:

  • Church Planting in Pakistan — building new churches and equipping pastors nationwide.

  • Revelation Bible College — training over 1,000 ministry leaders since 2018.

  • Maranatha Christian High School — providing free education for 500+ underprivileged children.

  • Brick Kiln Project — freeing families from debt slavery and providing ethical work opportunities.

  • Evangelistic Crusades — drawing thousands to Christ through the preaching of the Gospel.

All of these ministries share one heartbeat: to bring the love of Jesus to every soul in Pakistan.

A Story That Inspires the World

What began as a personal act of gratitude in 2009 has become a testimony of God’s grace to the nations. Today, believers from all over the world are partnering with Good Samaritan Ministries to help spread the Urdu Bible further — not only across Pakistan but also to Urdu-speaking communities around the world.

Through FreeUrduBibles.com, anyone can request, sponsor, or pray for Bible distribution. It’s a global invitation to join God’s work in one of the most spiritually fertile nations on earth.

Join the Journey

This journey of faith is still unfolding. Every prayer, every donation, and every shared testimony helps the mission move forward.

You can join this vision by:

Together, we can ensure that by 2033, millions in Pakistan will hold their own copy of the Word of God — discovering the same healing, hope, and salvation that began with one man’s miracle in 2009.

“So shall My Word be that goes out from My mouth; it shall not return to Me empty.” — Isaiah 55:11
